Medyca started its activity in Siena, Italy in spring 2019, providing doctors for travellers in the territory. Medyca’s current area of activity covers all the province of Siena and surrounding areas. Medyca’s doctors are available for house calls, both in city centres and in the countryside. What are the costs of a doctor visit?

The cost of a doctor appointment is 200 €, with most of our visits being at no extra charge. All drug prescriptions are issued free of extra charge as part of the visit. If extra services are performed during the visit, there may be an extra-charge. Night visits (later than 20:00) have 100€ extra charge. Examples of extra services: ECG Test, stitches and/or bandages applied to a wound, Streptococcus oral rapid test, intramuscular injection etc. For further information, please check our pricing page.

Will my health insurance refund the expense?

After the appointment, we provide you a medical report that details the findings of the doctor visit, prescriptions, and treatments. As we produce this report directly in English, you won’t risk that your insurance will not accept it, due to language differences. Although we cannot promise that all health insurance will refund our visits, we can tell you that nobody has ever seen their expense claim rejected yet.
